Army Worms – Army Worms come from migrating armyworm moths that travel during the spring and early summer. A numerous population can eat grasses to the ground causing round bare areas. Armyworms feed day and night and can destroy a lawn in a matter of days. Our 6 month Insect control is most effective as a proactive treatment against this pest, but we are able to treat reactively. White Grubs – White Grubs are the larvae of several types of beetles. Most common in our area is the Japanese Beetle. They feed on the roots of grass about 1 to 2 inches below the surface. Damaged area can turn spongy and brown. These areas can be rolled up like carpet. April to May and September to October is when most of the damage can occur, as this is their most active feeding times. At first sight of grubs call for an insect control treatment to minimize damage.
Fire Ants – Fire Ants are a growing problem in our area. Common areas to see fire ant mounds are warm areas near sidewalks, gravel and pavement. A sting by a single ant is painful similar to being burned. A sting by multiple ants can be deadly to young children and elderly people. These ants have been known to swarm and kill small cattle that accidentally disturbed the mound. We offer a treatment that will protect your landscape for a year from these pesky insects.
