Everyone has a different way of seeding new grass in the triad. Some spike and throw out seed, some just throw out seed and others plug with seed. Here at GrowinGreen we have developed an seeding process that year in year out continues to produce outstanding results. We start with hand picking our seed from a research farm in Raleigh NC. This allows us to use only varieties that perform well in our back yard on your lawn. Most people are familiar with k31 and rebel. K31 is not recommended on lawns that you desire deep green color and thin blades. Rebel is what we call a turf type fescue however has a very bad brown patch problem. The varieties that we use in our blend are over 50 generations improved from the rebel seed. We use varieties bred for brown patch tolerance and heat tolerance. We also take special care to ensure that our seed is 100% weed free and blue tag certified by the NC Dep’t. of Agriculture. We use a blend of 3-4 different seeds to achieve a well rounded seed that will stand up to our unpredictable weather. Our seeding Process is unique in that we apply our seed first at a calibrated rate for long term growth. We then double aerate the lawn and triple in spots need extra attention. We follow this up by slit seeding any thin, bare or weak areas to ensure good seed to soil contact. We finish by hand raking any spots inaccessible by machine and strawing of your bare spots. We will always blow your drive and walks off to ensure a quality job. We con provide you with the best seeding money can buy but it is worthless if you don’t do your part afterwards.
